What you pay
Monthly dues are $190.00 for journeymen and $95.00 for apprentices. Dues are billed on the first of each month and are due by the end of that month.
Dues schedule
- Journeyman: $190.00 a month
- Apprentice: $95.00 a month
- Retired: $25.00 a month, honorary members exempt
- Reinstatement fee: $250.00, on top of any dues owed
Keeping current
You're in good standing when your dues are paid through the current month. Your dues card on the Dues page shows each month as paid or owed, and the paid-through date is the last day you're covered.
Pay online here in the portal, by cheque mailed to the office, or in person. Online payments post right away; cheques post when we receive them.
Falling behind
Two months behind and you're in arrears. A late fine of $15.00 a month is added for each month you're behind. You can still be dispatched while in arrears, but the dispatch slip won't be issued until you settle up.
Three months behind and your membership is suspended. Six months behind and you're expelled and must be reinstated to return, with the reinstatement fee.
Credit on your account
If you pay more than you owe, the extra stays on your account as credit. The office applies it to your next month's dues. Credit isn't refunded except when you leave the union.
Tax receipts
Union dues are tax deductible. Your receipt for the year is released each February and appears on the Dues page for download.
